Professional Experience
A passion for architecture came to life in Saira through her love for art and her interest in creating unique experiences through space. She was also inspired by several family members who are practicing architects. Saira’s journey has been taken her fare and wide, including international post graduate studies, a variety of professional posts and projects, international travels and collaboration with a variety of design professionals. All these experiences have served to affirm Saira’s vocational choice. Her designs seek a harmonious balance between the built spaces and the site’s natural resources (light, native materials and views)

Who is SAIRA

Saira is all about nature and art, while being 100% committed to her family. Growing up in the DR, she loves the beach and sharing unique experiences with the people around here. She maybe exteriorly quiet, though when you spend time with Saira, you will recognize a powerful force within her which drives her towards excellence in all she does.

Personal

Saira has been blessed with a beautiful and healthy family. She is grateful for having been born and raised on a Caribbean island, the Dominican Republic, and growing up surrounded beautiful beaches, sand and sea. Traveling the world with her family, learning about new places, people and foods is one of her joys in life

Q&A WITH SAIRA

What is something no one would believe is true about you?
That I am always in a constant fight with my mind to rest. I feel like if I’m not doing something, I’m
wasting my time, I feel guilty in some way, and I need to find something to be busy with. But I know it’s
not healthy, and I need to rest. Take time to “do nothing”.

What organization or company Inspires you?

The school, the institution in which I did my basic studies and graduated. LaSalle College, specifically “Colegio Dominicano De La Salle” It is an institution of Catholic “fathers”, who with education based on “Christ in our hearts”, instill in young people community work, spiritual growth and the strength of friendship regardless of nationality or social status.

What are you a raving fan of?
I’m a raving fan of concerts in general. I love live art.

What are you doing when you feel most like you?
When I feel more like myself, it is when I take the road and go to an unknown or known place but that I
like very much.

In an alternate life, what would you want to give a try?
In an alternate life, I could be a doctor (I almost did in this life) or a pianist.

What are you passionate about related to the work you do and serving others?
What I am most passionate about my work is having the ability to CREATE spaces where people can interact, develop, enjoy. sometimes they are alternative spaces, but other times they are essential spaces for some people. Their first homes. Being able to give someone who has nowhere to sleep a decent roof is one of the best ways to serve with my career.

What is the best part of your story so far?
The experiences I have lived, the places I have visited and those who have accompanied me along the way. I have very good memories and life experiences, which have been part of who I am today.
