Since our family took over the farm, our primary commitment has been to establish a diverse and
beautiful tropical forest, which serves as a safe haven for endemic, native and migratory bird species.
We are dedicated to growing exceptional coffee, learning from global experts, and positioning the
Dominican Republic as a leader in producing specialty-grade coffees. I am committed to the cultivation
and processing of the highest quality beans and my daughter, Kate, with years of experience working in
some of the best coffee shops in the US, focusses on the roasting, brewing and the retail side of the
coffee business.

As an Architect, beauty and design is always at the fore front of my creative engine. Krista and I are
intentionally creating a space where humans can thrive, drawing upon 30 years of hospitality experience
to foster connections and facilitate meaningful experiences for all community members.

Community Participation

We have various ways to participate in the community. 1. A one-of-a-kind camping experience for
international visitors and local friends seeking a temporary escape. 2. Stay in a Treehouse! We have a
developing treehouse village, which is an exciting project led by our daughters and their husbands. 3.
Join the La Estancia Eco Lodge collective, which offers a shared ownership of condominium units for

number of large private lots at the farm’s upper ridge, at 5,000 feet above sea level, for individuals
seeking a deeper investment in the community.

Preserving Nature and Open Spaces

We are dedicated to preserving the majority of the property as an Ecological Reserve and coffee
plantation. Only 25% of the land will be dedicated to the residential portion, with careful consideration
given to maintaining natural protected spaces.

There are many activities available on the farm, such as mountain biking, hiking, birdwatching, camping,
glamping, coffee tours, co-farming areas, and panoramic views of the highest mountains, including Pico
Duarte.

Exploring the Surrounding Area

The town of Jarabacoa, known as the eco-tourism capital of the Caribbean, is teaming with quality
restaurants, coffee shops, tour operators, and adventure options. Activities in the valley include White
Water Rafting, Mountain Biking, Paragliding, White Water Kayaking, Hiking, Birdwatching, Water Falls,
Canyoneering, Motorcycles, Side by Side/Razors Rentals / 4 Wheel Tours, Jeeping and more! The town
